Cal-Neva Construction Services, Inc. was founded over 40 years ago as a small construction equipment sales and rental company that eventually evolved from doing grading, paving and underground work to levee construction and rock work for both excavation and levee construction with most of the work being performed in the Northern California and Nevada area.

The company continues to grow under the second generation leadership of Kevin Michael Malone Jr. The company has continued to expand under his leadership while expanding their capabilities to perform difficult site excavations, levee reconstruction, concrete bridge demolition, as well as rental of equipment related to this type of work. Cal Neva Construction Services is a registered Small Business Enterprise and is also registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations to perform public works projects. Cal Neva has an excellent safety record to which it is committed, and as such, are prequalified to participate in a variety of agency projects directed by State, County, or Local agencies.

rock Barrier Work

Rock Dam across Old River at confluence with San Joaquin River. On going work performed for the State of California, Department of Water Resources.

Levee Improvements

Emergency Repair of San Joaquin River Levee System at Vernalis, CA. Repair of erosion and placing of rock slope protection.

Earth Moving

Excavation for South Bay Aqueduct water intake. Removal of material to increase channel capacity to feed enlarged pumping plant. Work completed for the State of California, Department of Water Resources.

Demolition

Cache Creek Bridge Removal in Yolo County, CA. Concrete deck had to be removed prior to picking steel trusses to be recycled.

rock Barrier Work

Removal of Rock Barrier across Grant Line Canal, Tracy, CA. This barrier backs up water for irrigation of crops. It is installed and removed annually.

Levee Improvements

Roaring River raising existing levees importing of material hauling and placing 25 miles of existing levee system in the California Delta.

Earth Moving

Excavation for South Bay Aqueduct water intake. Removal of material to increase channel capacity to feed enlarged pumping plant. Work completed for the State of California, Department of Water Resources.

Demolition

"The Flume" Removal of concrete flume for South San Joaquin Irrigation District at Oakdale, CA. This aqueduct was constructed in 1917 and transported water from the Stanislaus River for the District.

Mission Statement

We have office facilities in West Sacramento and a yard location in Tracy, CA conveniently located off the I-80 and I-5 corridors of California. Our main office phone number is 916-374-9800.

Company Safety

Our commitment to safety is at the top of our list as a requirement of all concerned with the services of our company.

Our supervisors implement Cal-Neva Construction’s written safety plan as well as all on line employees who have been trained to think of their first job is SAFETY. The company provides annual classes in first aid, CPR, confined space and competent person excavation safety.

New employees are given a safety orientation before performing any work.

Weekly safety meetings are the mandatory order of work along with daily meetings when required of some specialty work. Drug screening of all employees is performed annually as permitted by union rules.
